Unusual vintage protective goggles featuring round, dark-tinted lenses and a black surround made of leather or a leather-like material. A thin cord is attached for securing the goggles around the head.

Based on their construction and tinted lenses, they were most likely used as gas-welding, brazing, burner or furnace safety goggles during workshop and metalworking activities. Their exact original purpose, manufacturer and date are unknown. They are believed to date from the first half or middle of the 20th century.

The goggles are offered in their unrestored original condition and display an authentic aged patina. Visible signs of age and use include surface wear, dirt, scratches, material deterioration and wear to the cord.
