Vintage INCA Colombian Museum Necklace – Gold Plated – Pre-Columbian Replica – Calima Style – 1970s
$170.25
Details
Beautiful vintage necklace by INCA, most likely dating from the 1970s and originally sold as museum jewelry or a museum reproduction.
The necklace was made in Colombia and is inspired by pre-Columbian goldwork. It features three striking circular pendants decorated with spiral motifs. The design closely resembles pre-Columbian nariguera nose ornaments, particularly forms associated with the Calima/Yotoco cultural tradition of Colombia.
The pendants and metal components are gold-tone / gold-plated. Comparable vintage INCA museum replicas were made from a metal alloy and finished with 24-karat gold plating. As the original packaging or material card is no longer present, the exact alloy and gold plating of this particular necklace cannot be guaranteed.
The necklace also features dark brown-black disc beads with small gold-tone spacer elements. The original oval INCA maker's tag is attached near the clasp.
A distinctive vintage collectible for lovers of museum jewelry, pre-Columbian inspired design, ethnic jewelry and 1960s/1970s accessories.
Please note: This is not an original pre-Columbian archaeological artifact. It is a later museum-style reproduction / decorative jewelry piece inspired by historical Colombian designs.
